Ok here is what happened. I was in Iraq and Afghanistan and while there my soon to be exwife was able to use my accounts. She had wrote a check and it bounced. I had no clue. Or I would of picked it up.

But I have been offered a job with GE as long as I pass the drug and background. And I was not living with her so I never got any notice I had a check a hot one. So one day I get pulled over and they take me to jail. Never been in my life I also help a security clearance while over seas.

I went to court it was all dismissed. But it still shows up on my arrest record that I got a free ride to the jail. But it also says dismissed on it as well. There was no plea no nothing flat dismissed.

This has cost me 2 other jobs in the banking sector I am in Information Technology field. Live in Texas.

Does anyone know if this will cost me this job to? It is for GE's oil and gas sector. I really need and want this position. Anyone know or help?

Sorry to hear about your problem. You weren't clear about why you were arrested. Someone gets arrested for a criminal act, or in the case of a traffic stop because there's an arrest warrant for some other reason.

Generally in private industry an arrest without a resulting conviction should not be a determination of employment suitability. However when you get into the banking and financial arenas the rules change, so EVERYTHING needs to be revealed there. Since GE is a private company you most likely will be OK, assuming that they are following the FCRA.

Best of luck to you.

I was pulled over (speeding) once he ran my id it came back as a warrent. I have checked with court house what it shows was warrent arrested Dismissed. I happen to know the officer he was going to let me run and pay it but another officer whom had a trainee with him pulled up so needless to say the trainee was able to get training on patting me down. He was nice enough not to give me the speeding ticket and since I had never been he gave all info like to empty pockets but take phone just take battery out as the jailers will leave it own and battery will run down. So he let ex who confessed said she wrote check take my car she was with me. Shows theft by check think 40 - 500 dismissed.Check was for 40 I think none of us could read the check because there was only copies.
