Motor Vehicle Record Search Requirements by the State of Indiana

Motor Vehicle Report is sometimes referred to as a MVR, MVR Report, MVR Search, MVR Check, a Driver's License Verification, a Driving Records search, or a DMV search. The Indiana Motor Vehicle Report checks the driving record of a potential employee and verifies that an applicant has the driver's license claimed. It may provide information regarding irresponsible behavior, including whether there is a history of substance abuse, repeated traffic violations, failures to appear, and unpaid fines

An operator’s license gives a holder 18 years of age or older full driving privileges to operate most standard passenger vehicles on Indiana roads. A probationary operator’s license may be issued to individuals less than 18 years of age. Records are available for 7 years (10 years for habitual violators) for moving violations; 10 years for DWIs and suspensions. Accidents reported to the state of Indiana police appear on the record. It takes 1-3 weeks before new records are available for inquiry.
